Adding a few People to Skills Base is very simple.

Adding a lot of people is not a lot harder.

However, the decisions you make about HOW you will add those people will determine how they login and use the system.

There are basically three options for adding people:

1. Manually via the software.

  • You typically do it this way IF you plan to complete assessments on behalf of people (but you can still allow them to self-assess if you want, you'll just need to manually send them login details)
  • We recommend you only use this method for a very small team and / or where you plan to complete the assessments yourself on behalf of staff

2. By invitation

  • You will use this method if you want to automatically invite people and allow them to self-assess.
  • This is a very easy method and you can cut and paste hundreds or even thousands of email addresses into the "Email Addresses" box in the "Add people by invitation" screen.

3. By Single Sign On

  • This is the most powerful method for adding people.  This is included with your license if you are either an "Enterprise" or "Ultimate" license-tier customer.
  • Single Sign On integrates with your organization's Identity Provider (IdP) service to automatically authenticate users without them having to login.
  • You would use this where you have hundreds or thousands of users and want to introduce a seamless user experience between other corporate applications.  This obviously assumes you are also using an IdP.  If you don't know then you should check with your IT department or representative.
  • Single Sign On also removes the need for you to invite or manually add people to Skills Base as accounts are automatically created upon initial login (ie: when the staff member attempts to access Skills Base and provided that the IdP allows access to Skills Base).

Furthermore, you can also have your Concierge import people for you.  When you do this, your Concierge will consult with you and ask you how you will want staff to use Skills Base when they are added (ie: will they receive automated invitations, etc, per the above notes).

There is more detailed information on this topic in the knowledge Base.  This includes detailed advice on things like default security groups, whether a user can select their own Team or are they assigned to a Team, how they inherit skills, etc.  This is available here:
