In Skills Base, "People" refers to individuals within the system. From the People Directory, you can add individuals, edit their attributes, or prompt them to log-in and complete Skills Assessments.

Before inviting People into the system, it is best to have created some Skills and Roles as a minimum. It’s also worth creating Teams and setting skill Targets if you’re able to as well.

1. Adding People

To add People to Skills Base, first click the “Add people” button

  • You will then be asked whether you’d like the People you’re adding to be able to log into Skills Base or not.
    • You may want staff to be able to log in if you expect them to complete self-assessments or to look at reports from within the app.

Adding People who can log-into the system

  • There are three ways to invite people to Skills Base so that they can log-into the app
    • Add people by invitation: this option allows you to send an email invitation from within Skills Base to one or more of your staff. With this option you can let staff choose their details (Team, Role, etc), or you can choose their details for them. Inviting users to join Skills Base with this method also prompts them to complete a Skill Assessment when they first log in.
    • Configure Single Sign On: this option allows you to make use of your organisations SSO tool to enable automatic account creation for your staff. You can use SSO or an API connection to automatically update staff details, such as Roles, Teams, Locations, etc.
    • Manually add a person: with this option you manually choose a staff member’s details and also create a temporary password for them. For the new staff member to then log into Skills Base, you’ll need to provide them with their login details (username and temporary password), and your instance’s shortcut URL. The shortcut URL will look like this: https://app.skills-base.com/o/testorg

Adding People who can’t log into the system

  • You may want to create a Skills Base use profile which lacks log-in capacity if there is no need for that user to complete self-assessments or view supervisor assessment details.

2. Editing user data

  • Individual edits: user attributes can be edited one user at a time via the below option

  • Bulk edits: to edit the attributes of multiple users, first select the users you wish to edit by clicking the check boxes next to their names, then select “edit” under the Bulk actions menu.

3. Prompting users

  • To prompt users to log-into Skills Base and complete an action, such as finishing a self-assessment, simply select the users you wish to prompt then select the “prompt” button under the Bulk actions menu.

4. You’re now ready to match up People with their relevant Roles, Teams and Skills

  • Once skills are assigned, you’re ready to set Targets and complete Skill Assessments
